FAITHWEAR MINISTRY SCROLL—January 11, 2026
Love is the believer’s calling. Before we speak, before we serve, before we minister, before we build, we are called to Love. Jesus said that the world would recognize His disciples not by their gifts, their knowledge, their ministries, or their accomplishments, but by their Love. Love is the mark of true discipleship, the fragrance of Christ upon His people, and the evidence that His Spirit dwells within us. Love is not an accessory to the Christian life; it is the essence of it. It is the posture, the motive, the assignment, and the identity of every believer.
Therefore, do everything in Love. If you are a preacher of the truth of God, preach in Love. You preach not to impress, not to perform, not to be seen, but to save souls — and that is Love. The gospel itself is the message of Love reaching for the lost. Every sermon is an invitation for hearts to return to the One who first loved them. Without Love, preaching becomes noise; with Love, preaching becomes life. If you are a pastor or teacher, shepherd and instruct in Love. You guide God’s people not with harshness or pride, but with compassion, patience, and tenderness. You teach because you desire to see others grow, mature, and walk in the fullness of Christ — and that is Love. Knowledge without Love becomes arrogance, but knowledge with Love becomes wisdom that builds and restores. If you are a musician, serve God in Love. You sing His praise not for applause, not for recognition, not for platform, but because you love Him. Worship is Love expressed through sound. Every note, every lyric, every breath becomes an offering when Love is the motive. Without Love, music is performance; with Love, music becomes ministry. Whatever your calling, whatever your gift, whatever your assignment — do it in Love. Love purifies motives. Love sanctifies service. Love transforms ordinary acts into holy offerings. When Love is the root, God is the source. When Love is the motive, Christ is revealed.
I have chosen to pause and dwell on Love — not as a feeling, but as the eternal nature of God. Before creation, before covenant, before sin, before redemption, Love was. And Love still is. Scripture does not merely say that God is loving; it declares that God is Love. This is not poetic language — it is divine identity. Love is not what God does; it is who He is. From the beginning, Love moved, Love spoke, Love formed, Love breathed, and Love gave. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit existed in perfect communion — a triune fellowship of eternal Love. Creation itself was born from this overflow. Humanity was shaped by Love’s hands, given breath by Love’s Spirit, and invited into Love’s presence. Even when sin entered, Love did not retreat. Love pursued, Love covered, and Love promised redemption.
Jesus is the embodiment of that Love. He is the visible expression of the invisible God. He did not come merely to perform miracles — He came to reveal the heart of the Father. And that heart is Love. Every healing, every word, every tear, and every step toward the cross was Love in motion. Jesus did not just speak of Love — He became it. He loved the rejected, the broken, the outcast, the sinner, the disciple, and even the betrayer. He loved with truth, with mercy, with power, and with sacrifice.
Jesus is God — the eternal Son of God — and yet, out of Love, He chose to descend into the limitations of humanity. He did not need to stoop down to our level. He did not need to breathe our air, walk our soil, or feel our pain. But Love compelled Him. Love moved Him. Love brought Him near. Though He is exalted above all creation, He came to live and breathe in the same space as His brethren. He came to walk among the ones He formed, to dwell with the ones He loved, and to stand in the midst of the ones who had wandered far from God. He came to be a better High Priest — not distant, not unreachable, but present, compassionate, and acquainted with our weakness. He put on the lowly garments of flesh — not because He lacked glory, but because Love desired closeness. Love desired identification. Love desired redemption. He came all in the name of Love, so that He might set us free from our sins. And to do this, He willingly embraced the cross. He became the atoning sacrifice — not by force, but by choice. Love chose nails. Love chose suffering. Love chose death. Love chose us.
Paul spoke of many gifts — prophecy, tongues, healing, wisdom, knowledge, faith, miracles, and discernment — gifts that build the church and reveal the power of God. But after listing them all, he paused and said, “And yet I show you a more excellent way.” That way is Love. Paul made it clear that a person can operate in every spiritual gift and still miss the heart of God if Love is absent. Without Love, we do not reflect God — for God is Love. Without Love, our gifts lose their meaning. Without Love, our service loses its fragrance. Without Love, our ministry loses its power. Without Love, we may operate in gifts, but we do not carry His heart. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not boast. Love does not seek its own. Love never fails. Every gift will cease. Every prophecy will end. Every tongue will quiet. Every mystery will be revealed. But Love will remain — because Love is eternal, and Love is God.
Love is obedience. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Love is proven not by emotion but by surrender. True Love yields to God even when it is difficult, even when it is costly, even when it requires laying down our own will. Jesus Himself demonstrated this when He prayed, “Not My will, but Yours be done.” His obedience was not forced — it was Love in action. Love obeys because it trusts. Love obeys because it honors. Love obeys because it desires to please the One who first loved us. When we walk in obedience, we walk in Love, and when we walk in Love, we walk in God.
Love is sacrifice. Love gives. Love lays down. Love costs something. Jesus said that no greater Love exists than to lay down one’s life for another. Love forgives when it has been wronged. Love releases offense when it has been wounded. Love chooses peace over pride, mercy over retaliation, humility over self‑exaltation. Jesus showed us that Love bleeds, Love bends, Love carries, Love endures. The cross was not nails and wood — it was Love poured out.
Love is correction and truth. Scripture says that whom the Lord loves, He corrects. Correction is not rejection — it is protection. Truth spoken in Love is a rescue, not a rebuke. Jesus corrected His disciples not to shame them, but to shape them. He confronted sin not to condemn, but to restore. Love warns. Love guides. Love disciplines with compassion, not cruelty. Love tells the truth even when the truth is uncomfortable, because Love desires freedom, not bondage.
Love is the eternal bond that cannot be broken. Paul declared that nothing — not death, not life, not angels, not demons, not fear, not darkness, not the past, not the future — can separate us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus. Love holds us when we are weak. Love keeps us when we are wandering. Love restores us when we fall. Love surrounds us when we are afraid. Love anchors us when everything else shakes. Love is the eternal covenant written in the blood of Jesus.
And this is the climax of Love: Jesus wants us with Him. He prayed, “Father, I desire that they also whom You have given Me be with Me where I am.” This is the deepest longing of Love — to bring us into His presence forever. Jesus did not die just to forgive us. He died to bring us home. He wants us in the place where Love is unhindered, where glory is unveiled, where joy is full, where peace is unbroken. He wants us in heaven — not as visitors, but as sons and daughters. He wants us to see what He sees, to behold the beauty of the Father, to walk in the light of His glory, and to experience the fullness of Love without the veil of flesh. Heaven is the final expression of Love. It is the home Love prepared. It is the place where Love reigns. It is the fulfillment of Jesus’ desire — that we would be with Him, near Him, in His presence, forever.
