So Christmas is here. But why do we celebrate Christmas?
We celebrate Christmas to honor the birth of Jesus Christ — the Savior sent from heaven to redeem humanity. Though Scripture suggests He may not have been born on December 25, and perhaps even in the spring — the season of planting — the symbolism remains profound. For Christ Himself was the Seed planted into the earth, sent to bring life, hope, and salvation to all.
Yet beyond dates and traditions, let this season call us back to the true essence of Christmas. Let us not lose ourselves in the customs we grew up with — the Santa stories, the gift‑giving, the decorations, and the festivities. These things are not the center of Christmas.
Christ is.
He came into the world to save us from death.
He came to reconcile us to the Father.
He came to bring light into darkness.
So let us commemorate His birth not only with celebration, but with transformation — by living a true Christian life marked by love, humility, and repentance.
May Christ reign in our hearts daily, not yearly. May His birth be reflected in the way we live, the way we love, and the way we walk with Him every single day.
Benediction
“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His.” — Hebrews 4:9–10
“They rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.” — Acts 5:41
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May His light rest upon your home.
May His peace guard your heart.
And may the true meaning of Christ’s coming be born in you anew.
